About the Designer and Principal Owner:

Carol Swanson-Petterson, CKD, MFA, Allied Member ASID

“I like to meet with you in your current residence, as it is important to see how you live, and learn your likes and dislikes. There is always an instinctive, emotional response to a space. I take the time to thoroughly understand you and your personal sense of style and translate the information into a Kitchen that fits you and your budget perfectly.”

Carol’s background as an artist brings out her creative side, and her experience in advertising and as a teacher has developed her listening and communication skills. The key to a successful remodeling project is communication and planning. She has years of experience as a Kitchen Designer in the Bay Area, with projects that stretch from San Francisco to San Jose.

Carol has set herself apart as a professional dedicated to enhancing her knowledge and experience in the design industry. She holds a Masters in Fine Arts (MFA) degree, Interior Design Certificate and Kitchen & Bath Certificate, is trained in 20/20 CAD Design, and most importantly has completed the NKBA certification exam to merit her CKD (Certified Kitchen Designer) designation. An advocate of continuing education, she travels to attend educational programs and events throughout the year that keep her inventive and connected with design today.

As the heart and soul of the KB Cabinets showroom, she offers you the elements that will bring your project to completion. Specially trained in Cabinetry Design, Carol will take the time to understand your ergonomic needs in order to make sure that the cabinetry design fits you and your family’s needs. “It’s all in the details,” she says.

Ross-PettersonRoss Petterson

Ross works in the showroom on Saturdays and helps out by managing the day-to-day operations of the business, and keeps the books. Ross holds a degree in Business from Duke University. His engineering background allows him to see the functionality of each part of a kitchen as well as help him explain the construction details to clients. With a 25-year career in Customer Service, he is well aware that cabinets are more than a commodity, and the purchase is a multi-step process that often spans six months from idea to design to installation. During this time, he is keeping track of the process, helping Carol stay in touch with the client, and monitoring the shipping schedule to coordinate with the client and contractor. Personalized service helps to create a beautiful kitchen or bath.
